If the University of Delaware Alumni Relations Blog learned anything from the scores upon scores of new freshman milling up and down Cleveland Avenue last Saturday, it’s that people like being able to hang out with friends all night, even if they are doing nothing of import.
Having been freed from their shackles of their parents’ curfews, the Class of 2013 roamed Newark looking for places to enjoy their new freedom and hang out.
Now UD football fans may do the same…almost.
Delawareonline.com’s U. Talk blog reports that UD football fans will be permitted two hours of postgame tailgating at Delaware Stadium this year (instead of one hour), beginning with Friday night’s season opener against West Chester (7 p.m. kickoff).
So pack up your tailgating gear and get to Newark to cheer on the Fightin’ Blue Hens. Also, after your two hours of postgame tailgating, feel free to roam the streets of Newark looking for parties to crash. After all, loyal readers, you too no longer have to worry about mom and dad keeping you down.

That’s great. Give me two more hours before the game, too, and you have a deal!
Seriously. Pre-game tailgating > post-game tailgating (especially when we lose).
fair point. email athletics@udel.edu with your thoughts. you have our vote.
