UD has been named one of the nation’s best universities/colleges in a guidebook published by The Princeton Review. The book is titled The Best 371 Colleges.
Now forgive us for being ungrateful, but 371?! We could have told you that without having to collect any institutional data, feedback from students, or data from staff. Think about it, that’s seven institutions per state plus some leftovers – not exactly the most exclusive company in the world.
From sister-site UDaily:
The UD profile says, “undergrads maintain an exceptionally positive view of their school’s ‘absolutely beautiful’ campus and its ‘phenomenal’ study-abroad program.” Survey comments include “great library,” “great off-campus food” and “students are happy.”
School profiles in The Best 371 Colleges also have ratings based largely on institutional data collected during the 2008-09 academic year. The ratings are scores on a scale of 60 to 99. UD earned an academic rating of 79, a quality of life rating of 75, a fire safety rating of 97, admissions selectivity of 93 and a green rating of 85, which measures the institution’s commitment to environmentally related policies, practices and education.
That said 371 represents 15% of the nation’s 2500+ four-year universities/colleges, so it’s a bit more exclusive than it sounds. Nonetheless, the top 371 doesn’t cut it for the UD Alumni Relations Blog. In fact, we’re throwing down the gauntlet – we will not rest until the University of Delaware is in the top 37! Tally-ho!
