This past weekend was our nation’s birthday and it got us thinking about birthdays and gifts and all that jazz. Why is it that on our nation’s birthday, we expect to be gifted with a display of fireworks and parades? What do we give our country? Not to get all JFK on you, loyal reader, but it’s a thought.
Another thought we had was, what’s the greatest gift you’ve ever received? UD receives gifts and donations every year from thousands of generous individuals, many of them alumni, and while the University of Delaware is extremely grateful and excited to get these gifts, our excitement pales in comparison to this boy.
Four years later this boy received a PlayStation and he had a heart attack. True story.
Much thanks to all those who contributed to UD this fiscal year by giving time or treasure.
