The University of Delaware Volleyball team, two-time defending CAA Conference champion, have released their
schedule for the 2009 season. The Blue Hens will play 5 teams that joined them in last year’s NCAA tournament and they’ll play 2 matches at the Bob Carpenter Center as opposed to their regular home of Viera Court in the Carpenter Sports Building.
To plagiarize from sister-site bluehens.com:
Two-time All-American libero Steph Barry returns for her senior campaign, while All-Conference selection Katie Dennehy and CAA Rookie of the Year Kim Stewart will be back as well.
The team will also return the services of setter Jess Chason, who garnered the CAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Performer Award last year. Seniors Kelly Gibson and Michelle LaLonde as well as juniors Paige Erickson and Greta Gibboney will all return as well.
The UD Alumni Relations Blog is nothing if not a die-hard supporter of Blue Hens athletics and our volleyballers have been our school’s best squad over the past few years. You can bet your bottom dollar on us being at this coming season’s games cheering on the team and threatening the opposing teams with violence. Go Blue Hens!
